Check chains on a Kubota L3800

I have a Kubota L3800 with a Landpride QA & Rotary Mower. I need to get/make a set of check chains to help keep the mower deck at the right height and I was wondering how/where others have secured them? I've been manually "eyeballing" it and usually do OK but sometimes I lower it too far and end up scalping an area or cutting uneven after raising the 3pt.

I'm sure this has been posted before but "check chains" is apparently too vague a search and didn't return much useful. Thanks.

I bought the kit from Land Pride. I think it's listed under the rotary cutter options in the manuals. It's certainly heavy duty, but a bit pricey.I later found this kit.

I dont run chains, but did on a finish mower I had before I got the ZTR.

I attached them to one of the toplink holes that were not being used

One end of each chain gets attached to a stanchion on your implement, near or near the lower lynch pins. The arms with the lock slots for the chains get attached on either side of the top link bracket, where the top link attaches to the tractor. Once you set your height for your mower, "down is down," and you can return to your pre set height every time.
A pretty good system.

double check for sway chains / sway bars, rottory cutters (bush hogs) can do the dog tail wag on ya. and mess up the 3pt hitch. more so if ya go into a turn, and the cutter gets hung up on something.

3pt hitches are excellent at pulling stuff, it is that side to side motion that can get you in trouble.

That's excellent - just what I was looking for - thanks. I'll probably look to secure it to the QuickHitch rather than the mower itself so I can use them on my box blade, landscape rake, etc.

Decided to make me a set of check chains after seeing this thread. I know it will help getting the rotory cutter to the same level each time when using it - but also, I have TnT setup and the Prince valve I used has internal leak rate high enough that the cylinders leak off more than I'd like and I end up looking back and seeing the cutter deck tilted over to one side after a few minutes of operation. These chains will prevent that as well.

I used scrap I had on hand. 3" angle for the chain hook bracket and mounted them to the ROPS brace with 1/2" bolts. The layout of the L3800 Top Link mounts and PTO shield didn't allow me to use the Top Link mounting point as most do for check chains.

I used 2-1/2" angle to make a bracket to pin to the lift arms and weld the chain to. I couldn't find a 9/16 pin at Tractor Supply, so I made them from bolts.

I'll just link the chain over the pins for the stabilzer arms when not in use.

While I don't think the chain would ever fall off either location, I am not taking any chances with it getting under the rotory cutter or finish mower. I had these threaded chain links on hand, but think I'll pick up a couple of carabiners to secure the chain end to it will be a quicker process.
