I have done a ton of reading of the old post here and can't seem to find any suggestions for a fix for my problem.

I replaced the alt. and reg. on my Mitsu D1850 with a rebuilt Ford Courier alt and new reg., the orig. was toast and couldn't be rebuilt. Now when all of the connections at the alt and reg are connected the charge and oil lights are on with the ign switch is in the off position, they are on in the on (run) position as they should be. They will go off when the engine is started and runnig. The alt charges at about 13.5 volts.
What would be your thoughts on this? A quick and easy fix would be nice.

The best I can tell, the ign switch was replaced with a Kabota switch. Don't know if this has anything to do with the prob or not. Of course I don't have a wireing diagram.

Thanks for any help, info, or suggestions.

my 2 cents would be to check for power going to the lights (charge/oil) with the ignition switch in the off position.if there is power to the lights with the ig switch off.the ig switch is miswired.you have to find which wire is bringing power to the lights and move that wire to the run terminal on the switch.the schematic is not for your tractor but the charge part should be similar. test the switch with a test light or a meter. good luck

Thanks mit,

Thank you for the link to the wiring diagram and your suggestion about the ign switch.
I had the switch out to make a spacer for it because it wouldn't tighten up enough to hold it securely when turning the key, problem fixed. I was looking at the switch for the possible cause and from past experience it didn't look right to me. Thought I would ask before I did something to screw something up and would need to replace it, don't need the extra expense.

Sorry for being a little late getting back to you, too many irons in the fire.
