I've got an MC35 has what looks like a 914a deck mounted out front. The belt is getting stretched out and is going to need changing. I hate to pay the dealership a service charge and would like to change it myself. I was looking at it this afternoon. Will I need to take the driveline to the gearbox off or even the gearbox itself? Any tips would be appreciated.

Please don't let the MC35 throw you. It should be no different than changing the belt on my TC33 belly mower. So if you have a compact with a belly mower (914) please reply. Thanks

I hope there is another way.

I've done it a couple of times, it's not difficult.

So you agree I will need to unbolt the gearbox? Thanks to both of you.
