New Holland TC30
I've researched the crap out of this site and I found some info from 2006 to to 2008. I'm new to the owning a tractor scene. I've always borrowed my brother n laws tractor til now. I recently purchased a 2006 New Holland TC30 tractor with front end loader from my neighbor. I'm looking to change the hydraulic fluid/oil, not sure which one they call it, on the tractor. My question is can I use Traveller Premium Universal Tractor Trans/Hydraulic Fluid, 5 gal. from Tractor Supply as a replacement for m2c134d hydraulic oil? The fluid/oil that is the front end loader was a little milky looking due to a recent major flood here in Texas. This is the second flood over the last 2 yrs. My neighbors wife told me she and her husband, who is now deceased, changed the hydraulic fluid/oil after the first Hurricane flooded the tractor. No water got in the motor luckily during both floods. I have already changed the oil in the motor and now looking to change the hydraulic fluid/oil. If someone could please assist me with this I'd be grateful.

I have used the Tractor Supply hydraulic oil in my ford/New Holland tractors with good results. As for changing the hydraulic fluid, do you know where the filter and drain plugs are located?
Before changing the fluid I would recommend getting the oil hot by operating the Tractor. With the oil hot, drain it immediately and remove the filter and leave the drain plugs out overnite. You may have to change the oil multiple times to get it cleaned out. Others will recommend putting additives in the oil to help clean out the water.
If this tractor is 4 wheel drive I would also change the oil in the front axle and final gear boxes.

Agree with chander ,I've used the TSC premium trans/hyd fluid as a replacement for the 134d oil in my tractors for years , works fine zero problems. Main thing is keep it clean and changed on regular basis along with the filters.

I believe that it states very clearly on the TSC Traveller Premium container that it is a type 134D (Ford) equivalent oil.

I know the NH oil is more expensive. I just bought a 2.5 gallon container of it and it was just north of 50 bucks but I don't mind paying a little more for the real stuff. I like the feeling of knowing it's the best protection I can give my tractor. I have been using it in my 1968 model 5000 Ford tractor for over 30 years and the select-o-speed tranny works as good as the day I bought it. I just had triple remotes and a 3rd function valve installed on my new 55 Boomer and needed over 2 gallons to top it back off. I know if something happens with the 55 and requires warranty work they NH can never come back and say I ran off brand oil in it. In all probability the TSC oil is about as good but it's just a hangup with me and it's served me well with over 50 years of using tractors.
