The manual states to change the engine coolant after the first year. Is there any reason to do so if the tractor has less than 100 hours on it? I never really run the tractor too hot. I can understand changing the other fluids due to the shavings but why the coolant?

Thanks for your comments

I wouls stick with the program....The antifreeze can become acidic thus losing its ability to protect your very expen$ive internal components.

If you have pH paper you can check and see if your ph7 neutral.

Also, the coolant can have shavings in it from either the water pump or internal cooling passages. It just wont be near as much as the rear end. You should just go ahead and change it.

Coolant deteriorates with age, not use, so I would follow the manufacturers recommendation. The coolants available in the US are of a better quality than those made in other parts of the world and will last longer. Buy the pre mix kind, so you don't have to buy distilled water to mix with the coolant and you will know the mix is proper. Flushing shouldn't be necessary on a new tractor and the little left over in the block will mix and not cause any harm. Dusty

All modern coolents contain a lub for the water pump. As the coolent ages this lub becomes less effective. I'd replace it per the owners manuel this time and in the future as often as the directions on the coolent container suggest.
