Bought an old disc harrow and after one use a grease nipple broke as I was applying grease. Cannot get the broken part out of the disc. Short of drilling out does anyone have suggestions as to what I can do to remove it?
The nipple you are referring to is called a "zerk fitting". Most are screwed in, and so the advice in the previous posts is good. However, less common, some are pressed in and have no threads, if pressed in, and the broken part is proud, you can grab it with a vise-grip and bend it off to the side an it should pop out.
Drill it out with an 1/8th inch LEFT hand drill bit. Usually the flukes catch the threads and spin it out. If not, use an easy out to remove the already drilled, broken fitting. We use this type at work. Object moved
