I have a Kubota B1700 with a Woods loader. I’m switching from Kubota SUDT to Chevron 1000 THF. My question is when I drain the uKubota SUDT I’m sure all the lines will not drain 100%, does this cause a problem when changing to the Chevron? Should I take extra steps to try and get out ALL the old oil out even from the load lines?

They are totally compatible....no extra precautions necessary.

tydp, thank you for the response. After reading all the positive reviews for the Chevron THF I can't wait to see if I can see the difference. I'll post in several weeks with my findings.

I have used Chevron 1000 THF for years in all my tractors.
I esp like how it is colored so I can actually see the oil level
on dipsticks or sight glasses.

My latest new tractor had some sort of generic hyd fluid in
it, which I drained the best I could at 50h. I am sure that a gallon
or more remained in the tractor. Nothing much I could do
about that.

I go to one of the Chevron distributors to get this stuff and
it was about $60 for a 5-gallon bkt last summer.

I seriously doubt you will notice any difference in a couple of weeks. Most fluids differences are for the long term wear, not the immediate operational changes.
Most of the long term wear claims are hard to prove or disprove, so how good your advertising dollar works is how many people you have saying just how good your stuff is.

I just bought a B1700 with a woods loader also. 940hrs on tractor and I'm not sure if it was ever maintained. I'm changing all fluids and I'm not sure on how much Hydro fluid to put back in. Do you know what is the capacity of hydro fluid with the woods loader?

I also noticed that when I lower the loader, unless I push it all the way to float mode, it drops very slow, the 3pt takes a second to come up (sometimes I have to give a tap on the throttle). Is this normal or could I have a filter/strainer problem?

And lastly, does your B1700 have the filter or strainer w/ bypass tube?

Sandman,

RE: "I seriously doubt you will notice any difference in a couple of weeks."

I would agree with that statement in general. I can think of one exception and that would have to do with the foaming characteristics of one type vs the other. If one type of oil was prone to foaming under severe conditions it could become evident very quickly in the performance of the tractor.
