The owners manual shows it both ways. On the back of the cover it says only to change filters at 50 hours. In the detailed service section it shows changing the fluid as well. Sorry if this has been covered before

Oh my... worm can..many of the guys believe it is a misprint in the manual. Many of the guys don't change until 400 hours. I changed mine at 50, and got a lot of gunk out. Do what ever feels good. It felt good to me to change it at 50. Well except that vacuum in my wallet. That didn't feel all that good.:)

My selling Kioti dealer told me to change it at 50 hours.Had my fluid and filters both changed in that time period.

I changed it at 50 as well, well a little over 50 actually more like 80 as that is what time permitted. I'm not sure if it was necessary and fluid is expensive but it is cheaper than doing damage to a new tractor by not changing it and having metal shavings and other garbage floating around in there for the next year or 2 before you reach 400 hours, at least that is how long it would take me to reach 400

I ran mine thru a screen and put it back in. Not much was caught in it.

It's not just the gunk. Kioti used some kind of generic hydraulic oil in mine, they would not say what type or brand. It
was clear, and clearly NOT a THF. All the THFs I have used (Kubota UTF, Chevron 1000 THF, Conoco 76 THF, and
Service Pro THF) are all colored and look nearly the same.

Get rid of the original fluid within 50 hr of buying the new tractor.

Thanks for the advice. I plan on changing it. I too noticed the clear fluid. It is very hard to see fluid level on the dip stick.

Another question: Why are there two filters, HST and hydraulic? Isn't there one common sump? Different filter mesh sizes for the power steering/hydraulic pump vs HST pump?

Didn't drain my fluid until 300 hours, 319 to be precise...changed the filter only at 100 hours. Fluid still looked fine, no water seeped by loosened drain plugs just before removing them completely....magnetic drain plugs were covered with metal paste (to be expected, and nice to see they're doing their job)

Change it at 50 hours if you like....it is your tractor....and your money....and it seems to be winning the vote here.....but I don't feel it's absolutely necessary to do it that early...

Hey...do most of you guys change the transmission and differential fluids on your $35,000 to $45,000 pickups after 50 hours use too?.....Hill Billy Bob

I put Mobil 424 in mine, it is clear. You cannot tell the quality of a fluid by it's color.
