Does anyone run chains on a B2620? Do you have clearance without wheel spacers?

I am considering geting a set of chains for my tractor, probably 2 link v-bar chains for Tirechains.com. I used those chains on my BX 2200 and was very impressed by them. I have read many posts about people needing to use the spacers on B3030 tractors. That got me thinking about whether or not they would be needed for the 2620.

Thanks,

Will

Glad to see this. I just told my wife this afternoon, I was about 1/2 a season away from needing to get some chains since we have gotten so much ice this year. Wouldn't you know it, for the first time in 8 years I could not get back up my driveway after I plowed down it. Had to get the truck out with 110' of straps and ropes to give it just a little tug. I was able to go back over it with my turf ripper or now my ice rake and make it up and down okay, but if I cleared it with my blade I would not be able to make it up on the smooth flat surface.

I like the look of those chains. I will check online and with my dealer to see about getting a set.

Thanks.

the wife and i also talked about needing chains this afternoon. with all the slet and snow over the weak then another 4" last night.i been blading about every 2 days. i can only blade down the drive and not back up (1/4 mile drive).

i like the rack idea was i thinking about the boxscraper with the teeth down low but will try the rack tomorrow when the sun come out.

I have used my grader box with the teeth down before I had my landscape rake. It worked very well, but had to make alot passes since it only has 3 teeth. I have used my landscape rake quite a bit this year already, but thought my homemade ripper was better suited yesterday. It diggs better than the landscape rake. My ripper is a piece of C channel with peices of 1/2" flat stock cut to a point and welded on the front and rear in a stagger on the C channel. It pretty much looks like a light duty pulverizer without the trailing spike drum.

My drive is also about a 1/4 mile long and goes up about 100' in the first 800', of course the steepest part of the first 800' feet is the last 150' to 200'.

I checked tirechainsrequired.com and the are out of stock on the 12-16.5 chains that bstrom got. I saw where a couple of guys really did not like the "duo" type and liked the 2 link ladder better that I saw on tirechains.com. I like the ones bstrom has. I have also seen lately where a guy got some chains from Costco for like $130 and they worked well enough for him, but I am not sure on the size that would fit the 2620 tire. He got the biggest they had, but I think he put them on ag tires. They are made for truck tires not tractors.

Good luck ! :)

I was able to run 2-link chains on my B2320 with industrial tires, without spacers, with about an inch or so of clearance to spare. The spacers will run you $200 - $300 plus your time & labor to install; so unless you find out for sure that you will need them, I would test the fit first without spacers. Post an update when you have it configured & good luck.

Here is the turf ripper/ice rake I mentioned.

Oh man I sure could use that thing right now. We have loads of snow but just last night it rained on the solid frozen ground and then snowed another 4" on top of that. It made for a perfect recipe of ice covered driveway. My dogs can barely stay upright.
