Looking to purchase a chain harrow for cover crop planting. Will be used behind a Kubota 3130. Sizes available are 6 foot wide and 4 or 6 foot long. What would you choose? Thanks for you replies! Spring is coming!
They are excellent for aerating/dethatching out the grass, putting in new seeds and scattering manure to reduce a parasite breeding ground. Horse people use them especially for the last reason. You will need a good heavy one to do the job right. I did a test plot in a 10 acre field 2 yrs ago and the half that I ran the Kory harrow over looked like it had been fertilized the entire summer with greener grass/clover and more top growth.
