My son was driving the neighbor's tractor for about 30 mins. When there was a explosion under the hood. The top part of the radiator blew off. I discovered that the screen was blocked solid. The outside of the tractor was immaculate. I ordered a new Branson radiator($300+) The tractor starts and runs OK. Could there be other complications?

Did the tractor overheat as one would suspect happened in this case? If so, how hot? Air blockage through the radiator is a common cause for overheating in any piece of equipment. If there was anti-freeze everywhere, and not just steam, you are probably OK. Other than water in the oil, it would be hard to tell if you have any damage until it is up and running again.

I bought a few truckloads of the 2635 Century's late last year (from the west coast dealers/inventory) from American Jawa after they quit selling the Branson built Centurys. They are twins to the 3510 Branson (non "i") models, but they have that heavy C50 loader. Nice machines, I think I only have two left, and one is at my house.

By the way, the radiator cap should have vented the pressure at about 15psi, so that should be replaced or checked...it may have failed.

I installed a new Branson 3510 radiator. pressure washed every inch of the tractor and tested it. It ready to be returned to my friend.

I have a Century 2535 and was glad to read that you got the radiator for it. I haven't had any trouble with mine that I've needed my dealer to get me parts for it, so I'm always interested in how that went. Did you have any problems?

The tractor has about 120 hours, and everything "appears" OK. I"ve just researched articles on overheating, and one overheat has the potential to ruin the engine. From my understanding this will show up as increased crankcase pressure. But it wasn't low on coolant so we'll hope for the best.
Meanwhile I've located a new Century 2635 at Dave's place in Red Bluff

The parts do come from Georgia. Expensive shipping. Too bad Branson
doesn't have a West Coast distributer, I think it would help sales on an already fine tractor
