ZG23 Kubota zero turn
What can one do about a Kubota dealer who sold a new Kubota to one and then when it was paid for refused to service it, period? I contacted every person up the chain of command, including having tried reasoning with "Russell, " but no a nothing was done. The owner and his son sold the dealership to someone else but still both work there and I am sure didn't tell the new owner about the bad business dealings with others. I'm not the only one. There are no other dealers or shops that will work on Kubotas in Ellis county Texas. At least I can't find one. This machine has 34 hours on it and it was bought new in 2004. It is a ZG23 zero turn lawn mower. IRussell told me he doesn't "have " to service my machine if he doesn't want to and he says he doesn't want to. The machine just cane back from a place that was nice enough to look at it but it came back 5-15-12 and it won't start. The fuel filter bracket is bent and the fuel filter isn't in it, it's just hanging on the outside of it.

Is there a policy that franchises must service the units they sell?

P.S. Thank you

I think there are some requirements to perform warranty service, but after the warranty expires . . . I sure don't know of any requirement that a dealer service anything. You have obviously had some problem getting along with them, so you just need to find another dealer. I now there's a dealer in Waco and a dealer who has places in Cleburne and Fort Worth.

That sucks. I wouldn't do a thing other the find someone to service it that want's to. No way would I try and force someone to work on it. No telling how it would come back. Plenty of Kubota dealers in Texas. Sounds like you might have to drive. Too bad you're having this problem.

let's see....my second year in school, second grade 34 divided by 8 equals 4.25 hours per year.If one mows weekly nine months yearly, that is 36 weeks more or less. Four and one quarters hours divided by thirty six week comes to the grand sum of .11805 minutes weekly.

If I was a Dealer or Service person I don't think I would service or work on the machine either.

Surely there has got to be more to this story! ;)

My guess is that ethanol has taken its toll on your gas engine carburetor. Not warranty work.
Have your carb cleaned and put Marine Stabil or Stabil ethanol treatment. Or better yet, put avgas in it if you only use it rarely.

Want to sell it?

I think we can all agree on that, but I've done just a little business with that dealer a long time ago; knew about the name change from Wapiti Kubota to Central Kubota, knew when they dropped the Belarus line years ago, but didn't know the dealership had sold. I have no idea what's happened in the last 10 years, but personally, I'd rather drive a little farther. There were definitely better dealerships in the past and not too far away. They may or may not be any better now, but little things bothered me there in the past. Things like them not stocking Kubota oils; they used another cheaper brand, I once asked the boss how hot the hydraulic oil should get and he had no idea; just said as long as it didn't discolor the paint, he wouldn't worry about it, and when I was going to add top 'n tilt to my B2710 and went there to buy some parts, they didn't know the B2710 had an auxilliary hydraulic outlet. I had to show them what and where it was.

Obviously they must do some things right because I first visited that dealer in 1995; don't know how long they'd been there before that but they've lasted long enough that they must be somewhat successful. And I have no idea how much the place has changed in the last 10-12 years.

I recently asked for a quote on a B3300SU from Central Kubota. Very nice to speak with but was told the BH77 did not have a mechanical thumb available. I was 99% sure the salesman was wrong but just said OK. Things like this tip me off to whether they are a dealer I should be using. Just an FYI.

Sounds like this dealer isn't the best, but I'm sure most here would like to hear 'the rest of the story'. I always liked Paul Harvey...
