kubota b1550
Anybody ever heard of this rototiller. I think Carter & Carter Machinery in Tennessee is importing these, from Turkey.
They tell me they've been sold in europe for the last 20 years and will have 5 distributors in the US next year.
The price seems too good to be true, $850 for a 42" tiller. here's a link to their webpage:
http://www.ccmachinery.com/tillers.htm
I'm considering the mr120 or 145 for my kubota b1550 (15hp)
even with the necessary $260 shipping cost it undercuts anything comparable out here in northwest (seattle)
by $500-600. And no 8.9% sales tax!

Actually it was 8.9% last I knew. In some counties/areas it's 9.2!
Nobody rounds up. It's a pyschological thing just like 9.95 doesn't look like $10 to most people evidently.

Now about those tillers... anyone??

thanks,
dave

For the additional $45 I think that I would go with the next size...

You may want to look at the King Kutter II rototiller, usually available at a TSC store. I've read in this forum that many people are happy with them and if anything would go wrong, it may be easier to find parts/service than with the CCM.

With rototillers, is more weight better or worse? In my case, the 60" King Kutter II weighs 690lbs compared to the 58" CCM at 525lbs.

I don't think they are made in Turkey.
Probably, Made in Italy tillers.
They look quality items.

Having read the links you gave, I am not convinced yet CCM tillers are made in Turkey and FC tillers are made in Italy. What if if FC is making their tillers in Turkey and propaganding that they are made in Italy? Same goes for CCM. Maybe, their quality tillers are made in Italy, but indirectly propaganding that theirs are made in Turkey, maybe, for some unknown reasons to us. Also, they seem to be that they CCM and FC are competing each other. But if you look at their products carefully, don't you get an impression somethings like that them CCM and FC are collobrating indirectly while they look as if they are competing?

Another thing; why is so important where their products are made in? It must be because "middleman" conception built-in their poor minds of people in general and customers in particular? This wrong 'middleman' concept in the minds is propating fast like any 'error' anywhere which propagates very fast. I think this should be corrected first. Lets answer who is middleman and who isn't.

Lets take a simple implement made of pipe, tine, etc.

Person A (you call him manufacturer) buys tines/pipes/etc from a person B (steel pipe factory owner) and A also buys a person C (worker/engineer) who pushes buttons of the pressing machine D (machine) so that the pipe is converted (bent) into a new shape. Then, person A sells that item converted into a new shape to a person E (distributor) if he wants to spread it around globally. Person E sells it to a person F (dealer) to spread it locally to a person G (end user / customer.) G uses that item to remove the iron element particles in the soil which will be sold to person B (steel factory owner) whose workers, engineers and machines will convert the iron to the steel and then will sell it to person A again. This loop goes on. This loop of one tool can interconnect with other loops of another tool to form a bigger closed loop. For example, this item with converted pipe shapes can be used to rake the hay and the hay and its tool can be used in another closed loop. All these loops form a big loop which is also closed.

So, we have persons A, B, C, D, E, F and G (and many more people between them.) - And, my question now is that; I frequently hear from people in business field that they usually say there are middlemen. Is there any middleman in this loop above? Who is he/she? or Who isn't he/she?

My answer: All of them are middlemen except D -

So, if all people in the field including manufacturer too are middlemen like FC and CCM, then who cares who are making these tillers?
