I have a '69 Massey 135 with a CAV injector pump. I've searched the site and come across a good deal of information as I have a very common leak at least at the fuel shut-off control among other places. Most have said its really a pretty easy job and my Massey Dealer said they sell a Seal kit for the pump but the large glob of what looks to be JB weld has me frightened. I found one diagram of a similar pump but I just can't exactly tell what should be under the jb weld substance.

This is the last issue from having an essentially perfect running tractor but being without a trailer to drag it in to the dealer I was hoping to get a bit more information before having them tow it in or ordering a seal kit that is useless if I can't get the thing apart.

Also from the threads on this site they mention just undoing a few bolts and the top portion just comes off I'm a bit confused what are bolts that allow the top to come off and what are linkages etc that need to stay.

As always any help would be great.

G'day Scott that large blob of goop is where one of the retaining nuts should be the other is next to it closer to the engine. If you get the cover off then check where the throttle/stop shafts go through the housing and make sure they are not worn, if they are then any place that reco's inj pumps should be able to supply you with one, they should also have a new stud and nut to replace the broken one. When you undo the plates off the shafts and lift the cover you should be able to push the throttle shaft through the cover as you lift it as this is hooked up to the govenor plate with a spring and this makes it easier, the stop shaft can come up with the cover as it just drops into a lever. If you remove the spring and pin from the govenor plate make sure you take note of what hole it is in ( a pic helps).
Good luck

Good Ole Farm repairs. It works and runs fine but it does have a very constant drip while running. Worried about tearing it apart grinding away jb weld.
