Tractor
Massey Ferguson 2706e
Looking into to purchasing a Quick Hitch for my Massey Ferguson 2706e the tractor has category 2 lift arms and top link. Mostly all my implements are newer & are category 2 or accepts cat1/2. Only thing I知 seeing is the height between the lower Lynch pins and top link pin. What痴 the best quick hitch that痴 cat 2 hook up on tractor end and cat 2 hook up on implement side, but with an adjustable hook for the top pin on implements? All the cat 2 quick hitch痴 I知 finding online have a fixed position top hook & I don稚 think that will work out for me. Also if anyone had a brown 416 rotary cutter & using a quick hitch. What hitch are you using and Ilan pictures. Thanks

Lift arm spacing is wider on Cat 2; here are a few Cat 2 QH's with adjustable top hook, but if you want top hook height QUICK adjustable, you'd probably need to mod the hook attach - there are a few threads on doing this, try a search using the words QH, quick, pins -

Category 2 Quick Hitch S1411;) QHC2

Double HH Category 2 Tractor Quick Hitch

Quick Hitch-3-Point Quick Hitch

Also, if any of your implements are TOO far off on toplink height you might need to mod the implement; lot of people (me included) have needed to do this.

About Quick Hitch....

Its pretty late on scene as to when cat 2 quick hitch hits the market ... Cat 1/2/3 probably started a century ago.... Some manufactures have embraced QH specifications some have not, some continue to manufacture as the have always done......

Probably best solution is get QH with closest dimensions to your equipment and those that don't fit, modify them to fit....

There is no exact solution in this game....

I have a mix of cat 1 and 2 implements, tractor is cat 2. I couldn't find anything that would do what I wanted as a "fixed" hitch so I wound up with Pat's, cat 2 to cat 2. Then I bushed up all my cat 1 implements to cat 2. Which would also work for a regular fixed QH, but, problem is, cat 2 and cat 1 spacing is different, so you'd have to figure out how to move everything to a cat 2 spacing (not easy, at least not for me). Pat's isn't perfect, it's not as easy to hook up as a normal QH, and it doesn't capture the toplink, that's still a wrestling match (but I use a hydro top link, which while heavier, is easier because I can adjust it so quickly). It works for me, it could be better, but I'm not sure it could be more flexible, I NEVER take the QH off (I've never had an implement connected without the QH, ever). Doesn't get in the way of my drawbar. No need to weld on my equipment. Good solution for me.

Also, a little aside. The Pat's cat 2 hooks will engage on a cat 1 side link. :) No, I'm sure I shouldn't do that, but, for some of my "drag" stuff (cultipacker, etc), I don't even bother bushing it up to cat 2. I'm not sure how "necessary" it is to bush everything up with the cat 2, but, it's cheap, so I do it on most everything. Just letting you know, you can get away without doing it. ;)

Does the top pin on the implement side have to seat or rest in the bottom of quick hitch hook or is it ok to have some play there?
