I am looking to buy a DX60 or New Holland T2420 which are the same w/ different paint far as I can tell. Leaning towards the Case due to better financing at this time. There is a Case DX60 on tractorhouse w/ 2hrs for sale used for 25,500 in Athens, TX just down the road from me. I contacted several dealers in the area, 1 in Rosenburg gave me a price of 33,600 for DX60 4wd, shuttle shift, loader, 4wd, and 1 remote. This is the same setup as the used one in Athens. How can 2 hrs make $8,100 difference on a tractor? What is a reasonable price for this setup?

I bought a DX55 a year ago, and I love it. I have the EHSS, 2 remotes, brushguard, but otherwise close to what you are looking at.
I would definitely go take a look at this one down the road from you. I looked it up on tractorhouse, and it looks great. It does not have a remote so that would cost you close to $1,000 if you needed to add one. It also says "Hydraulic Shuttle-12x12 Transmission", which is confusing. I think it is 12x12 syncro shuttle, and not the 12 x 12 electro-hydraulic shuttle shift (EHSS). EHSS would probably add $2,000. I have EHSS and can tell you once you use it you can't go without it especially for loader work. I also have the brushguard which most dealers include with the loader.
So maybe without the remotes, the brushguard, the EHSS, it's still a good deal if it fits your needs. Could even negotiate down a little?
$33,600 sounds a little high but not bad. I'm assuming that is without tax.
I would look at the one at the auction place to get the details straight, then get a quote for a new one with exactly the same features.
Good luck.

Yeah, I definitely want the EHSS. Guess that one on the auction might not have it, and no remotes which the dealer told me are additional $800 a piece. Got another quote this morning for 30,750 w/ 1 remote, getting a little better. I drove a New Holland TC55da w/ 700 hrs, and the levers for the shuttle, and gear shift seemed sloppy w/ a lot of slack. Is there linkage that needs adjusting or is this a common problem? Thanks for the input.

I'm not sure what you mean by sloppy. If you are used to a typical gear tractor, then the EHSS will feel whimpy in my opinion. The small shift levers and the spongy 'click' feel when engaged into gears is a big difference from a mechanical gear engagement. I got used to mine in a short time though, and like it a lot.
Compare a new tractor's feel to the used one you test drove to see if there is a difference. The new one should be similar but slighty stiffer.
If I remember correctly, I paid close to 30k for mine a year ago, with loader, 2 sets of wheel weights, brush guard, ehss, 2 rear remotes.
I researched a lot before buying mine, and there are very few problems according to posters here and the dealers. I went with the Case DX due to dealer support in my area. Otherwise they are about the same tractor, with the TC having high beams and an extra light switch on the dash or something.

I dont want to hijack this thread, but why does case make a dx55 and a dx60...whats the point? they are only 5 hp difference and otherwise identical tractors as far as i can tell.
