Hello fellow FLail Mower users,
I have owned mine for over a year and just got to really use it yesterday. Ran it about six hours in thick N. Ga. brush, briars, and grass. After greasing it I ground up anything that was reasonable. It really did better than I anticipated. Up to about 1 1/2 inches it chewed it up. I run it behind a Kubota L4310 GST ,37.5 PTO hp.
I usually ran in third gear, but second gear if I was in larger brush. I can run in fourth gear in medium stuff if speed is more important.
I bounced off a couple of small stumps going slowly and no damage done.
With the exception of backing over some larger sprouts, I would use the flail over rotary mower most any time.
The only thing I added was a slip clutch for my piece of mind. I adjusted it and it works great.
All you guys have a great day and be careful . My next door neighbor was killed last week by flipping his zero turn mower while loading it. Makes a man think!
Happy mowin'
