Fairly new here but have been researching for the past couple of months.
I'm pretty sure I'm set on a kubota B2320 for my first tractor. BX models may fit a little better but I think I should be conservative.

I just need to convince my wife that we actually "need" it... or at least a good investment

I'm a big DIY guy but with my new home, everything means i need to rent equipment or hire someone to do the heavy lifting (spreading soil, gravel for driveway, moving stones, etc). I purchased a cubcadet lawn tractor and it just isn't enough to do everything I need.

Although I'm enjoying the wealth of information on this site!

Well you came to the right site. A tractor is well worth it (take if from me, I have 11 of them). Welcome and you will never regret having a tractor. I have never been crazy about the BX machines, mostly because my property is fairly large and the tires are so small. I see a lot of B series that I sure do like. You can almost always sell Kubotas for what you paid for them, so to that extent your money is not wasted.

I think you are making the right choice with the B series rather than a BX. While purportedly the BX (I don't or wouldn't own one) can do lots of work, to me they aren't much more than your cub cadet riding lawnmower. They are too low to the ground for much work outside of the lawn and a tractor should be versatile on lawn and in the woods.
If you plan to do any PTO powered work, you may want to step up to the 2620. I don't think they are that much more in cost.
