Candycane Popcorn Ball..... Sunday

Mornin Guys,
Our volunteer fire department goes out every year a sunday or two before Christmas to give all the young kids in our area a candycane and popcorn balls. I have been doing it for 24 or 25 years and they were doing it before I got there. We use our old 1949 Dodge Muster truck for the job

Im on the left and the old timer next to me is Corky. He is 86 and still makes all the calls Talk about an inspiration to all the young guys ! My two boys were with us earlier in the day but alas they went to Giants Stadium to watch the Giants lose AGAIN

The little kids are really great, I love to see their eyes light up when Santa pulls up on the fire truck

Scottie, that's a really nice tradition. Preparing the stuff and going house-to-house probably brings as many smiles to the faces (and hearts) of the volunteer fire team as it does the kids. I like to do the same thing with members of my family. I think I get more out of it than any of them. It's a challenge getting around to everyone, because the drive is several hundred miles.

Thanks for the replies ! It is a real fun tradition, and what makes it great is that my boys 23 and 25 do it now, and we used to take santa on the fire truck to see them when they were little. They enjoy the whole thing now.

Boy we had a lot of little kids this year, gonna need more candycanes next year !

ps Whtnot, I managed to suffer the loss to Dallas Cowboys a few weeks ago :")
