Can I upgrade tires?

Hi folks. Ihave a JD 5105. I have 14.9 by 28 rears, would like 16 by 28 rears whichis an available upgrade if buying new. Will the 16/28s fit on my wheel rims? thanks.

I think the 16s are actually 16.9". I'm not sure about the rims. BobG in VA

Suggest you ask the dealer, what the part number for the rims are for both the 14s and 16s. If its the same, guess what? BobG in VA

Just a head's up, if this is a 4wd tractor the fronts & rears need to match, can't just change one axle.

As you have a 5000 series tractor, and the 51-54 series are basicly the same tractor except for the engine, no problem. I changed mine for the 16.5 rear and changed the front to match. I have a 5300 and went to the 5400 size tires. Gave me a bit more clearance and traction. Used the same rims and haven't had a problem for 5 yrs.
