Tractor newbie here, jinma 224/koyker 140 FEL.

I want to get my (standard) 2 axle 16' trailer off the ground for storage(or the tires I should say)....I could get out the floor jack and jack the thing up to get it on stands, but it occured to me "why cant I just pick up the back of this thing with the FEL and slap the stands under it. Stupid? Or using my head?? I have always been told not to use a tool for a use it was not designed for, but I like to save work when I can too. The trailer cant be that heavy. Just checking. Thanks.

TSMART, To hange the back end of the trailer on jack stands is ok [good, no load on springs] as long as you put the tonge on a stand and the stands have something solid to set on.

Your FEL can pick it up....but can you pick it up with out pushing the trailer off the front jack stand?? Floor jack would be safer I think.

The trailer has a weight of 1500lb if it is like mine. You will be lifting 1/2. Is your FEL rated for 750lb? If so, I see no real problem. In the real world...if you had just used the jack...it would be done by now.

If you have no other options in this world, use what what you got. I personally with a KAMA 454 FEL 195 would use a jack just because I have them and don't want to push the toung suport shaft of the trailer.

I have picked up mine a few times with the loader. I left it hooked to the truck and picked up the rear of the trailer so the tires were off the ground and slid jack stands under. I then lifted the the front with the loader and put jack stands under the front.

hummm tool for the intended use: I lifted my GF's wrecked T-BIRD FRONT END UP I had the front tires off and on blocks when I jacked the rear end up the front end fell over sideways off the blacks and basically flat onto the ground. this is a parts car with some good stuff left but basically driveable except for a hard t-bone hit. I raised front hubs up 2' and placed NEW blocks under it and set it back down this is using y ZL20 FEL and Jinma 284. it did open the relife valve on it when moving but held it up just fine with a little droop after letting off the front tires on the tractor were flattened pretty good so I don't recogmend it for this. but I had no other way to get under the car in soft wet dirt. I slid up to the front of the car with the FEL bucket under the bumper & my finish mower on back for ballast, pulled the FEL valve and raised the car front end, tractor engine about 1200~1500 RPM raised the car right up... /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif Now I nearly lifted my OLD tempo off the ground completely after it caught on fire. picked it up and pushed it onto a junkmans trailer. I also pushed my brothers junk 4x4 chevy HD sideways using the FEL and the trucks front snow blade mounts to get it up on the junkmans trailer early this spring. so will it lift the trailer Probly so will it be 100% safe probably not. /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

anyhow happy lifting...
