Can anyone identify this FEL hydraulic control valve?

Hi,

I am fitting a second hand FEL to my tractor and have just stripped and cleaned the control valve. The FEL unit was made in the mid to late 1980's. See the 2 photos below.

I know the brand is common as I have seen their logo on a few valves (even my FIAT tractor's remotes valve has the same logo). Is it a "Salami" from Italy? (yes I laughed when I saw that too).

One photo has the serial number on it.

Can any of our experts ID the brand and model please?

i'm not positive but when you said your fiat had one it reminded me that in the early 80's husco went international thus the name husco international possibly your Hi

Who knows? I checked out their website and I must admit the HUSCO valves use very similar casting patterns and letter fonts for orifice functions etc
Their current model 9210 would be the most similar to mine.

The logo on my FIAT 780's remote valve and the FEL valve in question is indeed the same.
However my FIAT manual calls my remote valve a "Salami". The logo is indeed an "Hi" but there is a big shape around the logo too, which maybe for another letter?

Also I saw an old Salami unit for sale on eBay that looks similar to mine. However the logo says "salami" NOT "Hi". (Perhaps they "shared" some designs?)

You may be on the right track, but we need someone who really knows control valves, they will spot its brand etc easily. Rather than guessing...

Well its not a HUSCO. I emailed them and their engineering department replied saying not theirs...

So hoping for some more replies...

the shape of the casting and the porting location is what brought husco to mind not the logo.

OK, well I have now had a reply from the national distributor for Salami. Its not theirs either! He suggested maybe an old Hydronorma, alas I couldn't find much about them or their products on the web, and the only pictures I found showed valves nothing like mine...

I think this is a Hidroema (spelling?). They were purchased by Bucher Hydraulics. They have sales offices all over the world. Here is a link to the valve I am thinking of:Monoblock directional valves HDM

Thanks Mike. They do look like they have some similarities, their model HDM18 (pictured) looks very similar to mine.
Funny but there is a brand spelt Hydronorma too... I will email Bucher and see what they say.

Well no reply from Bucher Australia... Perhaps they are one of those outfits that can't be bothered helping you out unless theres a big sale involved?

However I think you are on the right track Mike, as I have tracked down a few photos on the web and both the new Bucher "Hidroema" valves (Sp?) have many similarities, particularly with their fittings (spool end caps, screw types, casting patterns, port ID fonts etc). I think you are probably right. Also the "Hi" logo would tie in with the old name.
One day I will find someone who is/was the local agent somewhere and they will nail it. Given the serial number and pattern I would not be surprises if it was an HDM160...

Meantime heres a couple of photos of the overhauled unit, ready for installation in my FEL...

Other than trying to ID the valve, is there any question about the valve and it's potential use.

Have you considered getting another valve that has all the details.
