aha, a pump picture.
Turkish Teknalaji...!

What type of sprayer pump do you need? give larger picture, details, specifications such as flowrate vs pressure graph and i will get you a chinese pump. By the way, Chinese products are of several quality. Even their best qualities (better than Italians, Turkish mades) are for lower price than them.

I really don't want to hyjack pikels question, but it does mesh with my desire to build my own sprayer for my christmas trees. Does anyone have any links to schematics for a sprayer. I'm not exactly sure what I would need besides the pump. Of special concern is how they keep the tank contents moving so that it doesn't settle. Thanks...

The pic is small but have you checked Northern Tools?

Rozett, I'm not sure what your requirements are, but I recently reworked a damaged 12 volt sprayer. It is based on a small "demand" pump that is available a lot of places. The capacity is something a bit over 1 GPM. It is plenty of pump for the handgun or two spray heads. It began life looking similar to this one:

I had a teensy accident with the tank. I built a 3PH mount for the new tank (now it's part of the tractor - won't have it jacknife while backing up). The new tank is a small drum that was a non-returnable bulk cleaning solution container

Unless your ground is a lot smoother than mine, keeping the solution agitated might not be much of a problem.................chim

My thought was to use a 55 gallon drum (plastic) with a 3pt mount. A demand pump, like those available from Northern Tool, will work fine. But I'm sure that I can build one much cheaper than I can buy one.

My concern for tank agitation is because I would park the tractor and walk out into the tree field to do the spraying. Maybe when there is no demand from the nozzle, the pump recirculates the tank contents. Just looking for schematics to see how the commercial sprayers are plumbed.

Bruce, I don't have a schematic, but I did have a stand alone "pressure sprayer/washer" and right now I've forgotten the brand name. It had a 25 gallon tank, a 3hp Briggs & Stratton engine with a gear reduction transmission hooked to a Hypro pump (same pump as used on a tractor PTO), all mounted on an angle iron frame on 4 wheels. The plumbing was as follows:

1. a piece of garden hose from a fitting in the bottom of the tank to a filter (the "cartridge" inside the filter was simply a fine meshed screen wire that could be removed, washed, and replaced),
2. galvanized pipe from the filter to the inlet of the pump,
3. galvanized pipe from the outlet of the pump to an adjustable pressure regulator with a pressure gauge (another piece of garden hose from the regulator bypass back to another fitting in the bottom of the tank), and
4. galvanized pipe from the regulator outlet to a gate valve inlet with a garden hose male connector at the valve outlet.

Of course, instead of a garden hose, I had a 75' high pressure hose that I used, and I put brass quick couplers on the hose and the outlet from the gate valve.

Pressure and volume could be regulated by adjusting the regulator and/or by adjusting engine RPM. The contents of the tank were kept stirred by the return from the regulator bypass.

"But I'm sure that I can build one much cheaper than I can buy one. "

Maybe. I thought so, too, but I've been adding up the components: Carry-all, tank, fittings, hosing, boom, nozzles/tips, strainers, pump, relief valve, control valves, gauge, boom and related parts, etc. I think it's actually cheaper to buy if you're comparing apples to apples.

Maybe this will help out. There are some pretty decent drawings regarding sprayer plumbing.
