My 4120 doesn’t have a zerk fitting to grease the front axle where it swivels. The book says it has one? All I see is a plug. Someone told me it could be lubricated by the front differential hydraulic fluid. Anyone know for sure?

Probably because there isn't one (or two) and JD just didn't update the manual.
My 4105 was/is the same (purchased 2013). It drove me batty trying to locate the front axle grease nipples... I even stopped by the dealership to ask, with my Owner Manual, and they couldn't locate them. They investigated and found that JD had slightly remodelled a year earlier and eliminated them.
They (JD) had also added a couple of grease nipples and, of course, they weren't in the Manual either. I've learnt here on TBN that practically all of the makers of tractors (colours) do this because updating Manuals is too much of an expense for something minor.
