Camera arrives today

Well Harv, I will be asking many questions that will fall right in line with your expertise. Shouldn't be asking any questions about <font color=blue>(evacuator/unloader/nose thingy)</font color=blue> stuff.

Checked UPS tracking. If the weather doesn't turn bad, should get the Olympus D-490 Zoom camera I ordered today. Didn't get a card reader yet but hope I will be able to down load thru the serial cable for now.

I'm as excited to try it out as the day I took delivery of my 2910.

The serial cable should work fine, just a little slower. Does it have the capability to use a USB port to download? That will make it a lot faster. The card reader is defintley the fastest.

I hope you do better than I on camera delivery. I ordered my digital two weeks ago with express shipping via Fed Ex. I was not home the first delivery try, so, per their procedure they left a card and asked for a signature to drop off to a specifed location the next day. I complied, but no delivery. To make a long story short, after 5 days of us calling and asking what gives, they finally admitted that it was stolen inside their facility. They wanted me to submit a "claim" and they would credit my charge in a couple of weeks after receipt of the paper work...WRONG! After dropping the term "my lawyer" a couple of times and moving up the chain of management, Fed Ex agreed to buy another one and deliver...express courier...the next day. Guess what? No camera the next day. This one also was stolen inside their facility, this time at the other end.
I am surprised because I have always held Fed Ex in high regard, using them often in business. As of this moment, still no camera or resolution. I have another call planned today.
If anyone else has any suggestions, I sure would welcome them.
I look forward to seeing the pictures.

Bill: Imagine my surprise when I arrived home from work today. Found on package from a Camera shop behind the door. Went to UPS tracking to check what happened. Sure enough, it's still scheduled to be delivered on February 5th./w3tcompact/icons/blush.gif I guess this falls under <font color=blue>Stupid Calendar tricks</font color=blue>. Also found out that its my responsibly to change the calendar hanging over computer./w3tcompact/icons/tongue.gif Well I guess I had better just change it to Febuary. Then patiently wait three more days until my package arrives./w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif

I know how you feel about FEDUP EX. I have had similar problems with them. I refuse to use any company that insists on shipping by them.

Thomas: Have to wait for the ice to melt before the boat can go into water. I'm not a cold weather fisherman. If you want pictures of fish instead of tractors. Not me but a good friend.

You can imagine my surprise when I got home and the camera had finally arrived! Now the task of trying to figure out how to use it and get the pictures on line starts. Since you mentioned Great Lakes fishing, I thought I would pass along a photo of a steelhead I caught last fall on the Muskegon river. One of the best I have landed after chasing them around for many years. Hope you get your camera soon. Will look forward to seeing your digital posts.
