- Yanmar YM2610 ■YANMAR GURU■ EXTRAORDINAIRE
Well, I traded away my JD850 for basically the same model YM2500/YM2610 Yanmar. The YM2610 just has the added Power-Shift.
Fredricks gave a good deal and I know my 1979 JD850 will be redone vs. scrapped out. They were impressed that the body was still in great shape. So, sometime this year someone is going to get a sweet JD850 after it's been restored to "like" new condition.
A co-worker of mine joked by saying, so you are preparing for EMP already with a 1980 tractor. I'm not sure if this is preparing since these tractors move along at 15mph or less. Not like I can haul tail on the interstate with it. An Amish two horse team can out drag race the tractor.
Other than JD green to the YM red (gray), this is basically the same machine. So, all of my JD operation manuals and service manuals all apply.
Really, a new tractor in my neck of the woods is too difficult to afford. The few Yanmar dealers left in the USA are still around with parts and service.
I'm looking for many years of fun and work with the Yanmar. This forum community seems well versed too.
