This is definitely the wrong season for me to be posting about spraying weeds....probably will get no action on this thread, but maybe next spring when everyone is thinking about their lawns and food plots you can refer to this awesome little setup and great little company to wake up your subcompact tractor.
So I will spare you guys all what I have tried for spraying around my house. I have always had a 25 gallon Fimco 10 foot boom ATV sprayer. Had it about 8 years now. I have tried all sorts of different ways to use it and mount it. Mounted it on the deck of my Grasshopper mower and converted it to boomless, the rack of aHonda Big Red 3 wheeler, Polaris Sportsman ATV, Honda Rincon ATV....yada yada yada. At the farm I had an old 300 gallon 30 foot boom trailer sprayer. I did not like either of these sprayers I had. So I bought an expensive and really really nice F/S UTV 100 gallon sprayer with 20 foot boom and little honda engine that runs the spray pump for my Polaris Ranger. It also has 100 feet of hose reel with a tru-green/scotts lawn service type nozzle on it so I can spray like the pros. Beautiful setup, but a 20 foot boom is not ideal for my lawn and my lawn is too big to pull hose around.
I have had this little BX23s tractor for about 6 months and I thought just recently...boy, I bet it would be so nice to spray the lawn with a hydro forward and reverse machine, as well as a machine that can handle some weight on the back of it. Things you cannot get from an ATV. But I already had a sprayer that was intended to mount to an ATV rack. I liked the sprayer BXpanded has for sale in their setup but I wanted larger boom width of 140 inches like my Fimco that I already own and have spayed tons of acres with. I went through this entire scenario with Ryan and we worked together on possible solutions and got a mount on the way to my house just this week. I custom drilled the holes required from my fimco spray tank and this thing fit beautifully. It is going to be so handy to only have to use 1 pin to hook it up vs. fighting ratchet straps and having them come loose and the sprayer moving around. It is going to be so handy to go from forward to reverse unlike it is with a polaris sportsman or any atv for that matter. It is going to be so handy to be able to steer while I have a very heavy full tank of spray solution.
I DO NOT like spraying because it is just a pain to get everything ready and the whole process rarely goes smoothly. But now, finally, for both my home and my farm I THINK I am set up. This post got way longer than I intended....it was meant to just be a shout out to Ryan. BXpanded is a fantastic company to do business with...and their solutions seem to be what I am after most of all and that is convenience and making your equipment work better. I have the skid plate, tooth bar, and now sprayer mount. Hoping to get the back ho dolly soon. Ya'll have a good evening!
