Both my BX2750D and front blade TG2754 need new wear edges. I looked up the part numbers, both called for 70060-03528 and I ordered one blade only.

The new blade came and to my suprise appears to be powder coated black (why - it will just flake off when used) versus bare metal of the original blade BUT the big suprise is that the new blade barely measures 1/4" thick (between 3/16 and 1/4 using a rule - not a caliper, but close enough to see the difference) and the old blade is 3/8" thick - the original wear edges were TWICE as THICK and the replacement.

What a bunch of crap! The only reason I bought the blades is for the square holes for the carriage bolts. A couple of years ago I tried the rock rubber edge on my rear blade but that didn't work very well and money wasted so I want to stick with steel.

But come on Kubota - replacement parts should be the same as the parts that they are replacing.

So now what do I do, pay shipping twice to return it and then what?

So un-Kubota-like to cheap out on parts. Got me pissed.

I agree with you. Updates in parts do happen, but it's usually to create a better product, not skimp on steel and cause more frequent replacements. If you want longevity with the thinner steel, you might consider running beads of weld down the length. Welds are much stronger than the low carbon steel. Be careful not to warp the cutting edge while doing this though.

The new is .250" (1/4), old .329" (5/16) TG blade ~.390 (3/8)

Can anyone tell me the width of a new cutting edge?
It's a BX2750D.

Mine is worn down to the box metal overdue for replacement.
I'm planning to just buy metal and likely weld it on since this one lasted close to 10 years.
I think I won't even bevel the edge as it will happen naturally.

Was going to buy one but everything I found specifies that it fits serial numbers later than mine.
I presume they changed the hole spacing? Anyone know?

So it turns out flat metal comes as 2" and 3". 3 is too wide so I'll just use 2".
I am curious if anyone knows what may have changed on the cutting edges.

Just posting photos of the welded cutting edge. I do 1” welds set for deep penetration spaced where the bolt holes were.
If necessary a grinder could remove it in 10 minutes.
The outer skid pads were also just added for use on gravel. Made by welding rebar onto a plate. Three holes for height. Not tested yet.
