I have a ten year old BX2750B whose housing is rusting out in numerous places. I need to remove the auger/gear assembly to either try and repair the old housing or replace it. I removed all the bolts from the auger but can't separate the auger drive shaft from the the rest of the housing. I called my dealer and someone said he thought the secondary auger needed to be pulled out with the primary ,so I started removing the reduction box assembly from the back of the housing to pull the entire shaft through towards the front, but I cant get the last flange off the shaft to pull it through. Does anyone have disassembly suggestions for this unit?

So I called my Kubota dealer and talked to the service guy and he said you have to pry or cut off the bearing to pull the auger assembly through the front - HE WAS WRONG! I did pull the locking collar off and started to work on the bearing but you only have to get both of the flanges off (part 23) and the the bearing will ride right out the front along with she shaft. The inside flange was a pain in the ***** to get off. The problem was that when I tipped on side ou the other side would tip down and because its triangular, you can't really get leverage on two opposite sides. Also you have bolts in the way. What I ended up doing was buying two decent sized right angle pry bars and worked 2/3 of the sides real hard until it finally popped off - one of those jobs that should have been simple but wasn't.

Now I am grinding down the rust off the housing to see how feasible it might be to patch it up, or if I will have to spend the bucks on a new housing, which is $700 at my dealer and $600 down in Allentown.
