The 2660 has been excellent for my needs. That said, it would appear that I made a bit of a mistake in thinking that a BH would be a "not all the time" requirement. Now, as I look at the projects I have lined out, there are not many I can do without something to make a hole in the ground.
I stopped by the dealer today to figure out how to get a hoe on a tractor. I figured I'd at least have to trade to a BX25, and once I look at that I have to consider a BH equipped B26/2920...
The dealer told me that Woods is now making a bh for the BX in the BH6000. Does anyone have any experience with this unit? Cost estimates? Do's or don'ts?
Currently with the 2660 I have the FEL, 60" MMM, 48" Woods Brush Bull and 42" Tiller. There is also a Box Blade in my immediate future. The B is attractive because it is bigger, more ground clearance, etc. I figure I could keep the BB and tiller. Iwould need a MMM for a B. Cost is of course an issue and I'll be interested to see what the dealer comes back with. Comments and suggestions are welcome. Work I need to do is foundation excavation, water, power and gas line trenching, stump removal (nothing outrageous), lifting, gardening and general property maintenance, driveway repair, etc.
I bought the tractor a couple years ago, but just recently moved to the property. As I said, the 2660 is a great piece of equipment, but I would be using it so much more had I spent the dough up front on the bh equipped unit. Another example of false economy
Net/net my very limited tractor experience says that while a 3ph is great you really want, if at all possible, to be able to handle dirt from both ends of a tractor. $Live and learn$ This site and what I have learned form you all has been invaluable and I am much obliged for your assistance.
