Hello, My FEL raise/lower stopped working. Curl function seems fine. The FEL control is sloppy as if there is something not connected. AND shortly thereafter there is no tractor Forward or Reverse engagement or movement. No sign of hydraulic leaks. Rear and mid hydraulic lifts seem to work fine. Most likely one for the dealer, but thought I'd see if anyone else has had a similar experience, and what I might expect in repairs. Machine has about 345 hrs on it. Thank you for any comments and advice.

Have you checked the hydraulic fluid level? It possibly could be your hydraulic filter also. That's the first things that come to mind.

On the directional issue, have you double checked that it isn't in neutral? (sorry, had to ask). Any noise when you go forward or backward?

Nothing was said about the filters or screens.

Your loader valve lift spool could very well be loose. Remove the can on the bottom and check the nuts that keep all the parts on the spool, or weak or broken springs, or the little float balls loose, etc.

First check all the filters.

If your implement is running and pumping fluid, then check some hyd pressures.

Your manual will tell you what the relief pressure should be.

Thank you gents. I was working on some fencing all afternoon, so I will double check some of these things tomorrow. I had very recently checked all hydraulic fluids and I changed the hydraulic filter about a month (20 hrs) ago. I can check the screen in the trans filter, have not done that yet. But would hydraulics really explain the physically sloppy movement of the FEL control?

J_J I'll have to check an on line manual to look for the loader valve lift spool. I don't think that is in my standard owner's manual.

Aaron Z, you are a genius (well compared to me). After the loader lift problem. I must have gotten unnerved and at some point, getting on or off the unit, knocked the speed control lever out to of position, so yes that most probably is the problem on the tractor movement. Don't know why my neighbor, a long time tractor owner, didn't spot that! Will find out in the AM for sure but the lever was more in neutral than drive. Can't go out again to start it up, because I'd disturb our stray cat who has come to feed him (and also, it's cold!). But at least I will sleep better tonight!! Thanks.

Genius? No, I've just done the same thing several times on my inlaw's BX2660 and B7500... Its now the first thing I check (the PTO lever on the BX also likes to wiggle to where it is JUST "engaged" enough to trip the sensor and stop it from starting).

The FEL control linkage under the handle base cover came apart. Fortunately the nut and lock washer were still within the area behind the battery compartment cover (nut was actually in the battery compartment). Up and running all day. I will keep my eye on this connection in the future, for sure! Thanks again!
