Setting up and using a brush cutter on my BX is frustrating me. I am having a problem with the front skid plates on the cutter digging into the ground. I have tried to level it as per the instructions in LandPrides manual, but their terminology and explanations are very lacking. I still can't get the front up so it wont dig into the ground.
I've talked to the dealer twice, and I can not get this problem figured out.
I have searched this forum and found that some are using "check chains". This sounds like it would solve my problem.
Attached is a picture of the back of BX, and would anyone know exactly where you would place the check chains?

The checks that you are showing are to limit the side to side movement.
I think you are referring to a check to limit the down movement of the front of the mower. That check chain connects at the lower arm hook up point on the mower and goes over the top link. KennyV

On a ford a friend had on the tractor end top link there was 2 extra plates with a round hole and a key hole on the other end.
You put round hole on the pin one on each side of the tractor end of the top link.
The other end of the chains were anchored just behind the lower 3 point pins one on each side.
You adjusted the chains on the top link end to stop the lower links at the height you wanted to cut.

The check chains are for side to side movement limitation. The holes at the top are for the same check chain to stop the top link from moving down. Ever use the mower and the tph moves too ? its annoying esp. when mowing with the rototiller or have weight box still attached. You can stop the mower from going down by using the top selector knob but it wont stop the tph from moving if you need the mower. Just pull the pins at the top link arms and move the check chain arms up to the holes and repin. let me know if you need pics.
