I finally got a chance to get out to the tractor and install the grip/battery screen and step kits. The grip and screen kits were so easy they aren't even worth mentioning, though the throttle grip was kind of a pain to get on. It took a lot of twisting while forcing it on. The battery screen went right on no problem. Mine came with a new screen which had to be popped into place, that was probably the most difficult part of that operation.
The step kit requires 15mm, 13mm, and two 12mm wrenches. The left side went on pretty easily. You need to lower the MMM arms all the way to be able to get the bracket into place. That part wasn't in the directions. I had to remove my box blade to get the arms low enough. I don't have a MMM so that took a little figuring out.
Here are both ends of the left side bracket:
Of course, little hands help in tight places...
The right side bracket was in 3 pieces. The right side fix is different for the 1850 and 2350. I discovered after I looked at these pictures that I didn't install it quite correctly. Kubota also shorted me a bolt (again!) so that didn't help either. One bracket hangs on a support bar and it looks like I didn't get it down low enough. I see some air between the hanger and the bar and my step is higher than the edge of the fender now. I'll fix that with
the 12mm when I get back out there. The end result is and extremely solid step and less stress on the fender as you leave a bolt out on the edge of each side.
