Hi all. Thanks for looking. My brother just bought a BX24 at an auction and it has no manual. Forgive my ignorance, but how in the heck do you turn the seat around to use the BH? Having a hard time figuring that one out. Or is it possible there is supposed to be another seat for the BH that just isn't there now?

And sorry if this has been covered before. Doing this on my phone so searching is difficult.

Thanks all.

If it's like my BX23..There's a bar under the front of the seat..Lift it up and the seat disengages..Just lift and spin, then lock down in the BH position...reverse procedure to put back to normal.

Under the front of the seat should be a long black lever that goes along most of the front. You have to lift up on that and at the same time lift up on the front of the seat. The whole seat should lift up and pivot. (at least that's how my BX25 works, I assume they're the same)

My neighbor has a BX24 and I had the same problem with it. i have seen pictures of the seat backwards for Hoe operation so i knew it somehow turned backwards. There is a silver bar with a little black handel coming off of it. This is under the front of the seat. Lift this lever and rotate your seat to the backwards position. There is a small bar that attaches to the seat, you got to push the seat tiwards the hoe and listen for a click. If there is no click, the seat will fall down and you will be sitting too low to operate the hoe comfortably. Once you've done it once, you can do it a thousand times. Good luck.

I gave up flipping the seat a long time ago as a tremendous waste of time. Now I just kneel on the seat, do what needs to be done, and then sit to move the tractor ahead. You can only work 4' at once, and it almost takes longer to flip and reflip the seat as to do the digging.

Just my two bits.

ayelvington - I done that just for a 5 min operation thing with BH- however it just scares me that its in such a precarious position. The other thing is that what if the repeatly sitting on the seat edge ruins the highback of the seat? When I first got my BX24- the seat was at first hard to turn, making it a effort to turn. I ended up spraying the ball bearing, hinges, what ever other moving parts there are with white teflon lithuim spray and it gets easier each time I use it. Now it moves very nicely so it not a effort to lift, spin and set. ;)

Actually, I kneel in the seat with only my armpits hanging over the seat back. It's not comfortable, but it's a good position for operating the controls from their bases like joysticks. (I've never had luck using the controls from the knobs.)

The only shortcoming that I've found so far is that your hand can get "bit" between the guard and the hoe if you're not careful. It's actually a pretty tight fit there...

I do almost nothing but trenching, and I'm never in one spot for more than 5 minutes unless I've sunk :(

I just did about an hours worth of BHing on my BX25. I did both methods. Where I knew it was going to be for just a few minutes, I didn't turn the seat. Where I knew I would be at one spot for several minutes and was going to need to be a bit more precise I turned the seat.
