OK, I went to my local dealer to get filters and oils for my 50 hour service. After a rather too long time searching his computer, the parts guy tells me I need two hydro filters (one for the transmission and one for the hydraulics). I went ahead and got both of them, but for the life of me can only find one hydro filter mentioned in the manual.

Is my parts guy off his rocker or am I missing something in the manual and all the BX 50 hour service checklists?

Dunno, but Messicks have some excellent service advice here for BX series.

Unless a bunch of us (or all of us) have missed it, there's only one. The HST and hydraulics share the same reservoir.

My b7510hsd has 2 one on each side just did my 50hr a few weeks ago!!
Although I only see one in the above Massick's web page for the BX series mine were
1 on each side of the tractor not in the rear like the picture??

One filter.

Use Messicks online. You can get SUDT from them too.

Your dealer is mistaken. There is only one.

Thanks, everyone. I thought there was just one. From reading the manual and then looking under the tractor again today, I'm sure you're all correct.

This parts guy seems like he's stuck at idle all the time he moves so slow. I keep wanting to reach over and give him some throttle so his blood will get moving a little.

There is one spin on filter on the BX. There is also a pick up screen behind a fitting on the lower transmission case. I don't have a pic but it should be in the manual.

Now you gotta wonder if either of the filters he sold you are even the right one......

How'd 'ya know?

My original post was about how he give me two hydro filters, but at least they're the right ones.

When I checked the engine filter against the part number on Messiks and another list member's checklist, it isn't the right one. Not only that, it is at least 50% larger in diameter tan the one on the engine!

Well, I have to go back there tomorrow to pick up my tilt cylinder that they were working on, it will be return/exchange time.

Now I know that I need to verify all part numbers myself.
