I did a search on the fan belt change on the BX24. Are you kidding? You have to undue the drive shaft?!
Anyway, it seems like there are 3 or 4 bolts to undo on the shaft flanges. Then move (slide ?) the rear shaft toward the rear, and slip the old belt off, then the new belt on. And then reverse assemble. Is that it, or am I in for more than I am expecting?

Yep that’s all I did on my bx2230. When you remove the 3 bolts the shaft slides back just enough to slip the belt in.

I am going to have to look at my BX2200.

I am having great difficulty visualizing how the front drive shaft interacts with the fan belt...

One would think a 2200 & 2230 should almost be identical.

Edit: OK I see now. Calling the shaft between the engine and transmission a driveshaft through me off. That could be the correct term though. I just think of drive shafts being after the transmission and before the differentials I guess.

FWIW I can confirm this on a '24. Three bolts and if you have an extra elbow joint or two in your arms it helps ;)

Thank you. Any other issues to watch out for?

Well, it's a shaft that drives, hence a drive shaft.

Actually I got curious and checked the parts list. It is called a propeller shaft, while the shaft to the front axle is called a drive shaft.

But who cares anyway...:D

I know Kubota's are good, but they can fly too?!!
Anyway, Thank you for all the replies. I will probably tackle this in the next couple of weeks. At least before cold weather sets in. I usually park it under the carport and take the battery out and keep it on a tender. I put in winter blend diesel and run it for a bit, then cover till spring. If I need to use it during the winter, it's easy enough to put the battery back in. I have a truck with a plow, so I don't often need the tractor during winter.
Thanks again
Dan
