I have been looking for a new subcompact, Kubota or Massey Ferguson.

I got prices for both with:
Rim Guard in rear tires
Block Heater
Backhoe Thumb
Third Function Kit for loader
48inch Grapple

The BX23S would cost me....$36176.09

The MF1GC.23B came in at...$31214.00

When I got my GC1710 in 2013 it was $20421.52
At these prices I might just have the 3rd function installed on my 1710,
and have a SSQA installed too.

I'm gonna have to think on it for awhile.

I was faced with a similar situation two years ago, looked for lightly used B26's with a Hyd thumb and SSQA - missed three at auction so decided to do the SSQA/Hyd Thumb/3rd function on my 800 hr B21.

Wasn't inexpensive - $4K for the SSQA, bucket and 3rd function setup and hyd thumb, then the added Grapple, forks etc. another $2K or so. Then I found a used Kubota front mount plow & added hyd swing cylinder for $1,5K.

Then the BH hoses started going inside the boom a year later, so last year and this year replaced 3 of the 6 BH hoses, but got all BH and FEL $1500 so I have them

So nearly $6K in hoses and conversion to SSQA Thumb and bucket mods - I don't regret it as it greatly increased the usability especially the SSQA and 3rd function is a game changer.

Don't know your machine's trade value, but if the net difference is $10-12K for new I would say that's worth it to go new.

The MF GC1.23B is the more basic of the two models, yes the GC1.25B has a tad more HP, but a lot more of the deluxe features ...

The Massey "B" (Backhoe) versions are basically the same as the regular tractors, other than a subframe from the factory, swivel seat, higher ROPS, and the factory "power beyond" are the main differences ...

The BX23S is a more "commercial" version set up as a BH, a more "Heavy Duty" version of the BX2380 ...

Unless you are just wanting a new tractor ... Nothing wrong with that, the new ones have MUCH BETTER Seats, even than my GC 1725 MB!

I'd be inclined to stick with what you got, and upgrade it to the way you want it, that's pretty much why I plan on just keeping My Little Baby Fergie, as I've already done all the upgrades I want, not going to get my money back out of it, and it's a great little tractor! 750+ hours on mine ...

I'm looking at the same two units but without the BH. My dealer is showing almost identical pricing for both. I'm looking else where.

I recently found Deere 1023E units, with front loaders only, at several locations at Quality Equipment, for $16k. They have quite a few locations in NC, etc. Might be worth a look if for nothing else but to tell your dealer what you can get elsewhere.

Life is getting in the way again for me right now. With a couple of pending projects looming, I feel the wife will be better convinced when she see the mess I have to clean up!
