I have a BX23S FEL/BH. Do you think its worth buying the additional cutter edge for the FEL bucket...???
It seems like a good idea, i would think it would help the bucket to be more ridged. Costing me $120 OTD.

How many of you folks bought one for your FEL, and do you think its justifiable.

I bought one for my first or second tractor....maybe it was the third one....no it was the second one and nevr bought another one. I use a RatchetRake and clamp on forks and a RipNDig whcih have to sit on the edge of the bucket so no for me after doing it once. I also thought I'd wear the edge of the bucket down but doubt that happening andwant my edge as thin as possible to pick stuff up. :2cents:

I plan on putting a reversable bolt on cutting edge on my BX 25d. I plan on keeping it for a long time and want the regidity, my clamp on forks flex my bucket more than I like. Where did you find one for 120? On amaz on they have a 72" for 129, I can cut it down, but the bolt holes are wider apart than I would like. And it is 5/8" thick. Would rather have 1/2" to save on a little weight.

WORM,
My dealer ordered it for me for my BX23s right thru kubota, so its a direct OEM part for this particular BX model. My dealer told me that this particular cutter will only fit the BX23s with the holes already pre-drilled in the bucket due to the holes are already drilled in the cutter plate. Yes, he sold it to me out the door for $120 including tax, so i would assume that your dealer isn`t giving you that good of a price...?

One thing i`ve noticed with these bota cutter`s is, i`ve seen most have bolts come up thru the bottom, nut on top. Not sure i like having the bolts & nuts sticking up in the way in front of the bucket. Supposedly this new type cutter edge bolts up different than previous bota cutters. I haven`t visually seen it, so i dont know what it even looks like. Haven`t picked it up yet, going down to the dealer in the morning to get it. Its an 80 mile ride just to get there. When i get it home, i`ll snap some pictures of it before i put it on the tractor and pics of it installed on the tractor. I`ll try to post the pics in here if i can.

I`d like to put 3 hooks on the top of the bucket too, but past experience doing that bent the buckets up pretty good...been there done that. So my thinking is, i`ll build a flat plated hook bar for the top of the bucket and pin it for easy on/off when i need it. That way i can change the hooks out if i ever need to later on too with out messing up my bucket. Hmmmm, i just thought of something... i need some orange paint too...!!!! lol

Oh yes, like you, i plan on having this BX for a long time... it will likely out live me because i`m gettin pretty old now.
At my age, i wont be buying another tractor again.

I might even buy a SSQA blank plate and install some hooks on that instead. That way the bucket wont get damaged, and it will be off the tractor and out of the way when i need to hook onto something. I`ll weld a 2inch receiver on the plate too, then i can throw a hitch ball on when i need to move my trailers around for mowing.

I purchased one of these when I jumped ship from Kubota tractors to a Skid Steer so I could use my Boxblade on the SS. I now have my Hydraulic post hole digger mounted to it to use on the front of my tractor. Has lots of possibilities, reasonable price and very heavy duty. It's a recommend from me............ They also give 10% discount for registering as a first time customer ..............Skidsteer 3 Point Attachment Adapter Skid Steer trailer hitch front loader case

John, that looks like a 3point hook up, i`m looking to attach to the SSQA.

John, that looks like a 3point hook up, i`m looking to attach to the SSQA.

It's a SSQA plate that has front adjustable pins for 3ph implements and the 2" Reeses hitch already built in. I have my Landpride HD25 hydraulic post hole digger attached to the top connector currently. It's a very strong SSQA plate which can be used for many purposes out of the box. I love how the lower pins slide over to hook up an implement without having to muscle/lift/cajole the implement as much.

John, that attachment will be very handy.

I have a JD 310c, the cutting edge on it has the nuts on top. Normal use is no problem, when you put something like a 55ga. Barrel on it, it doesn't sit flat. I read somewhere on here another member had a piece of plyboard with holes in the right places to haul stuff flat on bucket.
I'm looking forward to see your pics when you mount it.
BTW, can you get the kubota part number? I assume it is reversable. Do you know how thick the metal is?

Ok, i`ll have to take another look at it again...old eyes dont see so well anymore.
