BX2360
Greetings, all.
I inherited a fairly new BX2360 and 60" MMM from my uncle. I have a problem with the mower that I can't seem to fix. The mower is not suspended but is running on the wheels. On the mower height of 4, it is cutting at more like 2 1/2. I have checked and adjusted everything as best I can, according procedures I found in other threads. I just can't get the mower to stop higher and not have the wheels be in full contact with the ground. Any further suggestions?
Thanks

This is odd. First off, I would check to see if mower if lifting to top position or not. Is the front bar cage installed and lifted up and locked up on the front of mower? Can you take a picture of the front of mower? Is the back of mower hooked in on mower lift?

I have the tractor and mower manuals and everything is correct as far as I can tell. Mower does lift to top and locks. I did adjust that rod above the left wheel in and out slightly to see what happens. Too far out and the mower would not go to the top, so I went the other way till it did. Mower seems to have full range of motion, but if I set less than 3 on the depth dial, I'm digging holes in the ground.

Set the depth at 4" then? You can also raise the deck wheels if needed. I guess I'm confused, can't you set the deck height higher?

Take the deck off and see if the cam is still there. If so make sure it is turning and at the same time get a good understanding how it works.

Sounds to me like the height adjustment control is broken / stripped / disconnected. The knob could be stripped, the shaft or ear on the bottom of the shaft may be bent / broken / stripped..
The height adjustment control "catches" the deck at the preset height as you lower it
This area would be a good place to start hunting for your problem.

What position do you have your wheels? There is a chart in your manual to show which hole foe the deck height.

If that doesn't do it, I agree with Leejohn, take the deck off and put it on ramps or stands and check it out, pretty simple once you look at it.

Thanks for all the replies.
The cam must be there because I can set any number and the deck will go down to that stop. It just seems that the whole mechanism is an inch or two too low.
Deck wheels are set correctly according to the book.
I tried raising the deck using the hanging bolts on the deck but at a point I couldn't get the deck to the top anymore.

Have you actually checked the deck height to see if it corresponds with the indicator? My decal is a bit off so it is not a true indicator, I just set it to where I get the desired height.

My deck may or may not actually go to the correct height, I just set it to where I'm happy with it and adjust the wheels to where they don't hit all the time.
