I have only had my tractor for a couple weeks and I noticed that the deck wouldn't lock in the TOP position. I looked around and noticed that the linkage that goes to the back of the tractor and has a bolt that you adjust to stop how far back the linkage can slide was broken. The end of it was bent and the bolt that was welded on was bent around and so not doing anything anymore. I tried to bend it back and that just broke the bolt off fully. Either I can try to bend the end back and then get someone to reweld the bolt back on or I can buy a new linkage (but I have no idea how much they cost). I am not sure if this is a high stress part that would be better new or if rewelding it would be ok.

I would check with the dealer. If it is only a few weeks old they may warranty it and adjust the linkage so it doesn't happen again.
well it may be under warranty but I have to assume I did something wrong that caused it to do that. I already disassembled the part but thats probobly ok its not hard for me to adjust the linkage and I don't really want to drag the tractor in when I can drive the part over myself

I'm not sure how you could do that yourself without really trying...Should be warranty..Depending on the dealer, you may be able to take it back in for a fix/replacement. Mine had a slightly deformed deck shute and they exchanged it for me and I installed it..Warranty.

Agree with Timswi, as I have no idea how you could be responsible for tearing it up. I would take it to the dealer for replacement and adjustment.

I agree with others there. I can't see how you could do it. Maybe you could enlighten us ? If you really want to know the cost instead of going to dealer first, I would first send email to messicks and ask for pto lift mower linkage diagram. He will have the prices listed on there from his dealership. You can then go to your dealer and ask for warranty work by bringing the parts with you and explain what happened and if they won't cover under warranty, you can compare the prices.
I have a funny feeling its gonna be cheaper at messicks if you end up paying.
