I did post this already but I think I should have post it here instead of owninf/operating.

Hi all, The tractor is not mine, it's my dad. But I am alowed to use as long as I pay fuel and help him with maintenance fees . So we are looking for a rotary cutter.

Our kubota dealer wants to sell us a 48 in Titan. And he also have a 48 in thrifty from last year he said he could make a deal on it. But it'S roughly in the 1300$ for both (But I do think I can do an aggressive offer on the last year thrifty brand as he is not stocking them anymore).

But, I eventually want to get my own tractor, and I plan on going with a lger unit than a bx. So far, (I can change my mind a 100 times) I think either a B2920 or a MAhindra max 28 would be my kind of tractor (Ok, lets not start a tractor debate...). So I would like to optimize the brush cutter size for my eventually bigger tractor. I think a 5 foot would be to big for the bx. But I too think a 48 would be too small for a B2920.

So after searching a lot, I found the woods HC 54, wich I think would be a good compromise in sizing. I found some at 1250$ not too far from home (500km, I need to check with them on a shipping quote) What do you think ? Is the 54 would be too big ? The bx have a FEL that can help to balance the tractor. The cutter would be mostly use to maintain a small field that is not beign farm yet and some area on the property where it is too rough to mow. The land is mostly flat ground.

As anyone run a 54in or even a 60in comfortably on a bx2350 ? Or any similar size sub compact tractor ?

I run that same cutter on a B2620. I previously owned a BX 2200. I think the BX would have enough power in light/moderate grass cutting for the 54, but 2 things I would be concerned about-the first is the weight of the unit. I don't have specs handy but I belive the weight is somewhere around 500lbs-quite a load for the BX. The second thing to think about is clearance-the BX is limited on the amount the 3pt hitch can raise an implement.

I ve check and there is only 44 lbs diffrence between the HC48 and the HC54.... So if i decide to go that route, I will def get the 54....
