I have had my BX22TLB for just over a year now and have used it pretty regularly but I have not had to remove the FEL or BH yet. I was wondering if not using the 3PH for this amount of time is a problem. I plan on getting a 12" bottom plow but I won't be purchasing that til next spring. I don't want the hitch to freeze on me. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif Your comments and suggestions are welcome.

Also does anyone have any quick tips on how to remove the BH from the BX22TLB since this will be my first time.

Thanks

I can't offer anything towards the 3PH being stuck, but taking off the backhoe is pretty easy. Last weekend I had to do it for the first time, and I had forgotten my manual. Still, I was able to manage it with the instructions on the side of the backhoe.

Here are some instructions with pictures that I found while researching the BX22. I have no connections with this site: BX22 Backhoe removal. These would probably be enough of a refresher of what your dealer showed you when you got it.

Just make sure that you remove it on a level surface like your paved driveway. I removed mine in the back yard on the grass and had a little more difficulty getting it to line up when I went to re install it. Scratched some paint off the bottom bar. Now I always remove it in the driveway on the firm surface and it is always easy. The only thing that I have found is that the hoses always drip some oil and the oil is always very hot. Now I put newspaper under it when I disconnect the hoses. Practice will make you adept at it... Let us know how the 3 point goes on for you. I haven't put mine on yet either... enjoying the tractor too much......

what keeps the backhoe from slamming when the latch is pulled?

You can't release the latch before you remove the pressure from the hitch by dropping the dipper arm and lifting the rear tires. It is well thought out and it is entirely safe the way it was engineered. The only thing that I would like would be a little more hose length to pull forward when disconnecting....

Amen to that, Junkman. I've had my BX22 for a month now and have taken the BH off and remounted it 3x. One piece of advice -- when putting the BH back on, make sure the boom, dipperstick and bucket are fully raised/retracted. If they're not, the BH will hit the back of the rear fenders when trying to lower the thing on to the bottom hooks. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
