Kubota BX2230
I recently found this site and a huge thanks for all the information you folks post. For a rookie like me, it's awesome.

Looks I may be coming down the home stretch on making the commitment to buy a subcompact tractor. I'm looking for a mid-mount mower and a FE Loader as accessories to start with. The local Kubota dealer priced me a BX2230 with a FEL and 60" deck at $13,200 while the JD dealer priced me a 2210 w/FEL and 62" deck at $13,500. In reading this board, it sounds like the BXs do a great job, but I grew up being brainwashed that no one made a better tractor than Deere.

If anyone has any experience comparing the two, I would greatly appreciate your feedback as well as your thoughts on the prices quoted.

Thanks.

I grew up Green also, but am now Orange. My view is that you need to buy the one that you feel is best and you won't regret. To me they both have excellent reputations, both make quality machines, both will do the job equally well so go with whatever tips the scales.

May be the dealer, the color, the position of controls, the comfort of the seat etc.

For me it came down to cost and it was no where near $300 at the time. If it was I probably would have stayed with the Green I was familiar with. But now I have my Kubota I would buy another easily. Of course if I ever buy another, I will compare again and include more brands when I do.

Good luck enjoy the ride and learn as much as you can.

I own a 2230. I'm biased of course. Nothing to complain about with mine.

Having said that lets look at both anyway. How about service, size of dealer, financing and any other intangables. Go with your gut on this and buy one.

All things being equal, go with which one "feels" better to you and the better dealer. I went orange, but in my opinion it was all about the dealer, the dealer, the dealer.

How are you treated, what's their reputation, 1st service, pick-up and delivery, HATS??, etc. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
