BX2230 front axle oil change

Changing my front axle fluid at 770 hours on a 2005 BX2230.The manual call for either Kubota Super UDT or SAE80 or SAE90 gear oil. I assume the gear oil would be much cheaper. Suggestions? Thanks

Gear oil cheaper and little more protection, changed all the tractors over to gear oil.

I've always used super UDT but may switch next time, I have a very slight leak on one side. Also fill up, run it a couple of hours and check the level again, they are known for the level dropping after a fill.

If it were mine, I'd run the tractor around for half an hour or so to get the axle's fluid moving and warmed up some. I'd try to tip the front axle by having the drain plug side lower than the other side so the fluid would flow to the drain. If I could get a tube from an oil syphon into the drain hole I'd also try that to get out as much of the old fluid out. Then fill it up AFTER leveling the tractor/axle and put the plug back in. I'd see how much I drained out to compare to how much I put in too. And last; I'd check it several times, over a couple of days of use, on level ground, to see that it was filled to the level it's supposed to be at.
Seems like a lot of hours for the existing fluid to be in the axle....
What's the recommended interval?

Thanks. The previous owner had the dealer change it at 440 hours or so. I believe it is every 300.

use gear oil... it will most likely never seep out of the seals, I switched my L4200 after 1600 hours of UDT... the oil dirt build up has never came back.

Will this oil work for both front axle as well as mower deck gear box? Gear box calls for .38 quarts SAE90 API GL5 gear oil. Front axle 5 quarts SAE80 or 90 gear oil. Thanks for helping!

Probably same stuff I got at the farm store but in a 5 gallon bucket with a different name on the it. Been having slight leakage at the bevel gear seals so put a little Lucas in it and cuts down on the seepage.
