BX2230 Block Heater?

/ BX2230 Block Heater? #21
( You will find that the block heater and hoze heater work on exactlly the same principle but are just located in different places. Both transfer heat to a fluid which in turn circulates heating the metal engine parts.)

Do you know for a fact that the fluid circulates? If so, they wouldn't be that different. If the fluid doesn't circulate, then you're depending on what's called thermal conductivity, and due to location, the in-line wouid be at a distinct disadvantage.

This is not an attempt to be argumentative, I just want to know. Does an in-line hose heater cause the coolant to circulate or not? To what extent? How do you know?
