Kubota BX2200
I just recently purchased a bx2200. The lady didn't know the year (how do I find it?) but it had 300 hours on. I bought it with a soft side Curtis cab, 50" snow blower, LA211 FEL and a rear drag blade. Did not come with any manuals..... Was hoping to purchase a bigger tractor but the price was hard to pass up.

Anyways, I have been looking it over to prepare to mount the snow blower. It appears the hydraulic controls are mounted to the FEL bracket. So I have a couple questions. Is there a way to remove the FEL without having to remove the pivot pins that have the grease zerks? If not, is there an after market mount or anything? All the information out there the just says to remove the pins and roll the bucket until the loader comes off. I've attached some pics of the loader arm where the controls are. It seems really lame to have to remove those pins.

Thanks for the help. Any other suggestions to make mine and the little bx's lifes easier is much appreciated!!

You have the old style loader where the controls are mounted to the loader not to the tractor. In addition, you have the Curtis cab where the loader controls go through the firewall. Those things combined make removing your loader a little trickier. Pulling that pin is usually how they do it but I found that to be a nuisance so I found that if I removed the top section of the cab firewall and swung the windshield out as far as it would go I could get they loader off the way it was meant to come off. The only difference is that I didn't have a snowblower on that tractor. The snowblower needs the loader hydraulics to operate so if you are setting it up for use with blower you unfortunately need to pull that pin so you can leave the hydraulic controls on the tractor. I hope that made sense....

Yep I have the same setup you have to remove the pins, what a pain to put them back in the spring. Make sure you put them in a safe place, also take note of where the hoses are connected if you connect them wrong in the spring you will be back here looking for help.

You can find year by model and serial number dealer should be able to help. I have bought and sold a lot of tractors if owned by homeowner not farmer or contractor I have found about 40 hours a year is a good average not exact of course.

Lame design. Do I need to remove the 2 pins on only the side with the hydro mount and remove the main pin on the side without? Or remove all 4 pins? (hope that make sense) I attached a picture of the side with the mount showing the pins.

Is there an aftermarket mount or anything that is available so the FEL is not so painful to remove? Thanks for all the help!!

I have the same setup. The loader attachment is an old design that as been improved through numerous iterations through the bx era. I found it such a pain to take things apart to take the loader off that I had the dealer weld the valve assembly to the loader stanchon that is attached to the tractor frame. The hoses required re routing and I added quick connects to the 4 hoses that connect from the valve to the loader. It now works well. I can take pics if u want

It's a 2002 (give or take a year...). Based on the loader design, I'd guess 2001.

I seem to remember the manual showing two types of loader brackets and controls (3-valve vs 4-valve or something like that...). My loader lifts off of the mount by pulling two pins, but the loader valve and controls stay attached to the mount, and thus stay on the tractor. Your setup looks like the valve is attached to the loader itself, and the whole schemer lifts off of the tractor unless you pull the pivot pins and take the loader apart - agreed, lame design, at least for front mount snowblower controls. OTOH, my big tractor loader is built the same way as yours (it's a '94), but I've never taken it off. I like the idea of rebuilding the loader bracket as per clemnd86, which would make it more like the slightly later model loaders. You could probably do it yourself with a couple of pieces of steel if you weld (or break out a step drill and bolts).

Only the 2 small pins on the loader valve are removed, the large pin is not removed. The large pin on the other side of the loader is removed.

Hey clemnd86! I would really appreciate some pictures! I have an idea what to do but would like to see how the hoses were re-routed and extended.

Thanks for all the tips from everyone else! If anyone has any other things to make my life easier with this tractor, please chime in!!
