does anyone have a BX that is not level? My BX2200 leans 3/4 to an inch to one side.Is there a way to level the tractor, other than tire pressure.I'd sure would like to know if this a problem thats wide spread.the tractor is not in warranty. thanks.

I am not expert but look at the fram and see if it is bent and or any of the cross braces are loose.
the machine could have been dropped in shipping and or used or rather missued (abused) by previous operator.

How do you know it is not level? Are you looking at the bucket? I have read here that buckets can be bent, giving the illusion of "not level." I have also read of loader arms/mounts/subframes not being installed level.

Mark asked a good question: Why do you say it isn't level? If you are taking measurements at the rear axle it can be deceiving, as the castings are different and makes it look like your tractor isn't level. Other places can be adjusted easily, such as the 3pt arms and mower decks. If it's the front bucket, loosen the frame mounting bolts, put downpressure on the bucket and retighten the bolts and torque them properly.

We just went through this with a customer's BX1800. We used a gauge that measured from the center of the rear wheels to the floor and they were both exactly the same (11 &1/2 " if I remember correctly). Don't worry about different looking tire profiles or fender height. You do need to "zero out" the deck and check blade height with a good gauge. An 1/8th inch higher on the rear blade is good, but you need to be the same side to side. Hope this helps.

You do need to "zero out" the deck

What does this mean?

Maybe that wasn't a good choice of words, but what I meant was to make sure the deck was level by measuring the height of the blades to the ground with the blades to the front and side. Like I said 1/8th inch higher in the rear will improve performance. I don't think the number markings on the height adjust knob translate to inch settings of the cut. We were cutting at 2 &7/8' with the 3.5 mark lined up with the arrow. Hope this is a little clearer.

I haven't abused the tractor, but I have used the loader to the max, moving dirt ,level out an area for the pool etc. I put a level on the front part of the tractor frame and it's not level with the correct tire pressure.Redoing the loader frame mounts is a good idea I'll try it,but the snow blower is not level also, always touching down on the rigt side first. The mower deck is a pain to level.I just get it the best I can.I originally thought that it was just the way it is.Kinda like the snow plow on my pick up,its never perfect, but works fine.It will be a long time before I get another tractor so again I can use any ideas and help.
Thanks gerry

The snowblower is a quick attachment on the front sub-frame mount. The mounting has a bit of play and the snowblower is not quite balanced because of the shoot arrangement. Hence, the blower will appear to drop one side before the other. If you put the blower on you will find you can rock it from side to side....the heavy side will drop first.
Mine does that but when I am really blowing snow I have the blower floating with the full weight on the skids. If the skid shoes are set up right then the blower will be level......
Just a couple of thoughts....

Good luck!

Seems like most questions here regarding out of level that I remember were the result of uneven tire pressure.

I believe front tire pressure differences should not cause the tractor frame to go out of level if the tractor is sitting on a flat surface, which I assume it is, if you are using a level to check to see if the frame is level. The reason this would be true is because the front axle has a center pivot. Raising or lowering one side of the axle, should change the height of the front of the frame, but not cause it to twist.

If you view the tractor frame like a rectangular piece of wood with three nails in it, one in the center of the front [representing the axle pivot point], and two at the corners in the back [representing the rear wheels] it is apparent that if you shorten one of the rear nails [ie, lower the tire pressure] then the front of that piece of wood will twist, with the opposite corner going up, and the other corner dropping.

But you have equal rear tire pressures. Did you measure the distance on both sides in the rear, from the axle center to the floor surface as I think someone recommended above? You should. Maybe the tires are not the same diameter for some reason.

If both axle ends are the same height from the floor, and the floor itself is flat and not twisted...then what could cause the front of the tractor to be out of level? If the frame were not bent, but somehow not bolted on square to the rear axle assembly perhaps? Not sure if this is possible.

Worst case the answer seems like it could be a bent frame...as was also suggested above...

The loader not hitting the floor even [or the snowblower] appears to me to be a symptom of the problem and not the cause. Whatever you would do to make these things sit level on the floor or when slightly above it, would not fix the root problem. Unless perhaps the loader frame were somehow twisting the tractor frame...which is probably unlikely.

Hope you resolve the problem without too much trouble.

I forgot, but did you say exactly what the 3/4 to an inch of lean actually meant. Over the lenght of a 2 foot level that is a LOT!
