My BX2200 has 73 hours and when you raise and low the 3point hitch or the FEL a hissing noise comes from under the seat. I am able to get the noise to stop by moving the 3 pt hitch up and down until the noise stops. But as soon as you use either the hitch or the FEL the noise is back. I think it is coming from the pump but not sure.

Any ideas before I call the Dealer to pick her up.

That is a good question... my BX 2200 hisses a lot also??? I hope it is not a problem.

Well it depends on the type of hissing you are hearing. The hydrostatic unit by nature will produce a whine when running. The relief valve will produce a hissing sound when it is bypassing(like when your 3-point reaches max lift or when you actuate your loader to max height or curl). Just make sure that the relief valve is not always on which could be if your auto return to neutral on the 3-point lift is not adjusted properly. To test this pull your 3-point level to the raise position and it should drop to neutral. You should hear the hissing just before it drops to neutral then stop. If it doesn't stop move the 3-point lever to lower it just a bit and listen to hear if the hissing stops, if it does you need to adjust the return linkage.

When tractors are new they are loaded with paint and we often find that a valve might be sticking a little and needs a little help to find center. All your loader hydraulics and your three point come from under the seat. Try a little penetrating oil on the pivots of the levers and make sure they are returning to center. You are going to here some noise from them when being used.

I know the sound you are speaking of, I get it quite often. You are right, sometimes moving a lever will quiet it, but it'll come right back when you do something. I think the sound is quite normal, my dad even had it on his L2900, just more evident on the quieter BX. I've heard it from day one, and now 250 hours later, the hydraulics are as strong as ever....I don't even notice it unless I pay attention anymore, just one of those sounds I've gotten used to.

Could it be jealous neighbors?

I need to check the relief valve then because when I do something similar with the 3pt hitch the noise does stop but returns. Thanks

With 73 hours I would guess you are still in your warrantee window so you should be able to have the dealer fix it for you. It is a simple adjustment to the 3-point return linkage. If you want to try it yourself I could scan the page from the service manual for you.

Yes can you please scan the page. I would be without the unit for a week or more if I had to return it to the dealer

thanks

I would also be interested in the info. My BX2200 w/125 hrs hisses once in awhile also.

thanks
