Just went out and found I've got a flat R. front tire. No obvious damage. Can I get a tube in it without taking it off the tractor??

Anybody fix a BX flat yet?

Thanks,
- Patrick

Patrick, my front tires used to leak down also. Put some "slime" in them and have had no problems since.

Give it a try - much cheaper than a tube, and a whole bunch easier.

I agree with rlk. Slime is great stuff. Once you use it you will be addicted. I only check air pressure in all my toys like the four wheelers etc once a year now and then dont have to add air usually. Just wondering why would you want to attempt to put a tube in while your wheel was still on the tractor /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gifAlot easier to remove the tire and drop by your friendly tire service center but the slime is what you want.

Sure. I had the local gas station do it...a wayward screw found it's way into the tread somewhere along the way. For $5.00, I let someone with experience deal with the leak!

... because my jack is also flat!!! (that is, it has leaked out its hydraulic oil, darned Harbor Freight stuff...)

Slime it is, I just need to find it. You just pump some in through the valve??

Thanks for all the feedback.

Lossen lug bolts
Put block of wood uder FEL bucket
Raise tractor
PUT BLOCK UDER AXLE TO PREVENT TRACTOR COMING DOWN /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
Remove wheel
Repair flat
Replace wheel
Lower tractor to ground
Tighten wheel Lugs

Yeah, it is basically the same stuff that you would use in a flat car tire. My dealer swears by it - he told me that one of his customers ran over a t-post and was able to use Slime to fix it (and that'd be a purdy big hole!).

Yeah you just remove the valve core and squeeze it in. I think the slime comes with a valve core tool if I remember correctly.

Well, didn't find "Slime", but I found what must be the same stuff at Sears ("Tire Sealant"). It's even green. Says it's for tractor tires, wheel barrows, etc. I'll give it a shot. Maybe I'll just pre-emptively put it in all the tires, since I'm mowing down a lot of multi-flora roses, and besides poking holes in me, they probably got the tire too. Starting to wonder if I should have gotten the R4's...
