Kubota BX 2200
The battery on my BX2200 is not charging and the "Charge System" lamp is always on. I checked the workshop manual and there are a couple of issues possible. One of them is a loose connection. When I removed the panel, I found a hanging set of wires (See picture). The wires are black, white, red/black and red/green. The wiring diagram suggest that this should connect to the "Timer Relay". I can't find the timer relay anywhere. Could this fix my initial problem also. I have no idea what the "Time Relay" is for. The fuses are all good.

Thanks,

No idea what the timer relay is for but many manufacturers make up wire harnesses that are used for different models. Maybe the harness you have is also one used where a timer delay, whatever that is, is used. You might want to check the battery connections especially the ground. Clean them with a battery terminal wire brush and see if that make a difference. Could the battery be on its way out?

I actually had the battery checked and changed. I could get the tractor started for awhile with the new battery, but the "Charging System" lamp was still on with the brand new battery.

The stop solinoid that cuts off the fuel to stop the engine is usually on a timer delay that delays the solinoid from engaging (not sure how long) to reduce shutdown due to momentary seat switch activity (Seat bounce).

The wire bundle you are looking at is not used on the BX2200. Kubota uses a standard wire harness on various models.

As to the charging issue. Use a multi-meter and test the voltage coming out of the alternator. Should be >13 volt. If not check wire connections, battery cables, V-belt. If no wire problem or mechanical the problem may be the alternator.

I would also suggest to check the dynamotor for output. On these series of BX's they do not have an alternator and are known to fail & do not put out much to begin with. May be worth to investigate an alternator upgrade.

Herein lies your problem. You are running off the new battery until it too dies. Your charging system has failed, and until you get the charge light to be off, your problem will continue. As suggested, check all wiring and all fuses again, and verify they're not causing the light to stay on. You must show 13- 14.25 Volts being received at the battery for the system to function without draining the battery.
